FAQs

Does my food order arrive fresh or frozen?

Your food order will arrive frozen. When we send your order we add dry ice slices, this keeps your order below minus 18c for 36-48 hours. We pack your order ready for you to transfer straight to your freezer on arrival.


If I order today when will my order arrive?

We deliver Tuesday – Friday. If you place your order before 1pm Monday – Thursday your package will be delivered the next day. Orders placed after 1pm will be despatched the next day for delivery the day after that. Eg: order Tuesday before 1pm delivery is Wednesday. Order Tuesday after 1pm delivery Thursday. All orders place after 1pm on Friday and over the weekend will be treated as if ordered on Monday before 1pm & will be delivered Tuesday.


What if I’m out when my parcel is delivered?

Don’t worry. There’s no need to wait in for your delivery. DPD will leave your parcel a safe place or with a neighbour. If you have a preferred safe place just let us know when you order, you can see “notes about your order” at checkout. You can also email us with this information and any other preferences you would like.


How does my food stay frozen during transportation?

We keep your order frozen with superb insulated boxes. We then add dry ice slices. Dry ice has a temperature of – 78c. This keeps your order frozen for up to 36 hours or until you open the box on arrival. Our insulated packaging is made from excess sheep’s wool, it’s absorbent, recyclable & re-useable. Our customers even re-use it in their gardens for hanging baskets / potted plants, for draft excluders & even for birds nests!


Can I have my order delivered at a specified time?

Yes, our chosen courier is DPD. DPD will text & email you on the morning of delivery with a one hour delivery time slot. Parcels can be delivered between 8am – 1pm and no signature is required, so DPD will leave your parcel in a safe place if you are out. Please make sure you provide us with your mobile number when you order so we can text you.


Can I choose my delivery day?

Yes, you can tell us your preferred day of delivery. Just email us or add a note to your order. You can pick any day Tuesday- Friday (we can’t deliver on Mondays). We can also arrange a delivery for Saturday, you can pick this option when you order, Saturday delivery is just £5 when you spend over £50


Can I cook your products from frozen?

In most cases yes, our products are sourced with quality & convenience in mind. So where possible our food can be cooked from frozen, perfect for quick, easy meals. All the products come with cooking instructions and recommended methods of cooking….


I suffer from allergic reactions to certain foods. How can I check to make sure they’re not present in your products?

All our products have a list of ingredients on the labels. Should you have any concerns before or after your purchase you can call us on 0845 60 154 60 / 01942 609647 where one of our team will be happy to assist.


Where is your fish sourced from?

We have a wide variety of fish so we source from all over the world. We make sure we buy from responsible sources with sustainability in mind. For that reason, we have a variety of wild-caught and farmed fish. You will find this information on the labels & website but should you wish to know more just call us on 0845 60 154 60.


Can I buy fresh fish from you as opposed to frozen?

We believe that our “frozen” fish is the freshest fish you can buy. In many cases, our fish is frozen within hours of the catch. “Fresh” fish sold on a counter can be several days old by the time it reaches the consumer. For this reason, all our products are frozen. * We have many customers who buy our ‘frozen at sea’ fish because they suffer from Histamine intolerance. Sufferers need to eat food at it’s freshest as Histamine develops in food from the time it has been harvested. *


Can I arrange a delivery to a different address?

Yes, you can. As long as your billing address matches the address of your credit card you can arrange to have the food delivered anywhere in the UK mainland.


I live in the UK but not on the mainland, can I still get a delivery.

In most cases, the answer is yes. However, there may be an extra cost from the couriers and extra dry ice as there may be a 2 day delivery time. Please give us a call on 0845 60 154 60 to find out about your particular case.


Is there an incentive for recommending a friend?

Yes there is. We believe that the best way to build our reputation is by word of mouth. We love recommendations! Recommend a friend and you both save. Do you sell frozen vegetables?  No, we concentrate our efforts on sourcing the highest quality fish, shellfish and meats.


Does your use of dry ice put extra carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere?

No. Dry Ice is solid Carbon Dioxide but this has been captured from natural sources preventing the CO2 from entering the atmosphere in the first instance. So although the CO2 does eventually enter the atmosphere it isn’t extra, it’s just delayed.
